About this title

Synopsis

Pete Doherty is the man who put the sex and drugs back into rock and roll. Bursting onto the scene in an era of manufactured bands and squeaky-clean stars, his lust for life, decadence, and wildness has endeared him to music lovers, appalled the establishment, and earned him legions of female admirers. First with The Libertines, and more recently with Babyshambles, Pete has expressed an uncompromising commitment to living life his way, becoming the most talked about singer-songwriter of his generation. Drawing on the memories of the man himself, those of his girlfriends, managers, and drug-taking companions, On the Edge dispels any myths and tells the true story of Pete's extraordinary life, from the depths of his heroin and crack addictions to the heights of his musical successes and his turbulent relationship with Kate Moss.
