This second covers the major part of the letter, providing commentary on 2.11 to the end of the letter. The exegesis provides for each passage sections on bibliography, text-criticism, literary introduction, detailed exegesis, and overall summary.

The volume concludes with a comprehensive bibliography, which covers the whole epistle.

About the Author

David G. Horrell is Professor of New Testament Studies at the University of Exeter, UK. He is the author of several books, including An Introduction to the Study of Paul (T&T Clark, Second Edition 2006) and Solidarity and Difference (T&T Clark, 2005). He was the editor of the Journal for the Study of the New Testament from 2002-2007. He is an active member of the British New Testament Society, having chaired the Social World of the New Testament Seminar from 2001-2006, and is also a member of the Society for Biblical Literature (SBL) and Society for New Testament Studies (SNTS). He completed his PhD at Cambridge on Paul's Corinthian letters and the letter known as 1 Clement.

Travis B. Williams is Professor of Religion at Tusculum University. He specializes in ancient Judaism and early Christianity, and has published extensively on the letter of 1 Peter, including numerous articles and essays as well as two major monographs: Good Works in 1 Peter: Negotiating Social Conflict and Christian Identity in the Greco-Roman World (Mohr Siebeck, 2014) and Persecution in 1 Peter: Differentiating and Contextualizing Early Christian Suffering (Brill, 2012).
