About this Item
Revised stereotype edition. 309, [1]pp., illustrated with numerous wood-engravings. Contemporary full sheep. Bookseller's ticket: "For Sale By R.C. Barclay, Norfolk Va." on the front pastedown. Both boards are detached, scattered foxing, with a child's small pencil drawing and doodles on the front pastedown, a fair sound copy. Although not marked as such, this copy is from the library of Pulitzer Prize-winning author Peter Taylor and his wife, the National Book Award-nominated poet Eleanor Ross Taylor. Laid in is a half-sheet with the title page transcribed, likely in Peter Taylor's hand, for delivery to a Charlotte-based book binder, along with an autograph note from the binder to Eleanor Taylor.
