Nathaniel and Elizabeth Hawthorne credited with the doing the better part of writing the content. Bound in 1/4 leather and pebbled cloth covered boards. Title lettering in gilt to spine. Illustrated with maps and in-text woodcuts. Leather at spine surface rubbed but sound and with title lettering still generally bright. Cloth rubbed and flaking at corners. All endpages present, though crash is showing at partially split inner hinges. Sound clean copy with moderate external wear and expected moderate toning to pages. A classic comprehensive world history reference representing early "outside" work from nathaniel Hawthorne. G++.
