Wave your hand (or paw) if you've heard this before: 'Flopsy, Mopsy, Cottontail and Peter were four little rabbits who lived with their mother under a big fir tree.' Peter was a mischief maker, heading out to Mr. McGregor's garden instead of picking blackberries like his responsible siblings, more sensitive to their single mother's burdens, perhaps. Profiling, Mr. McGregor immediately began chasing Peter, yelling 'Stop, thief! ' (Well, Peter was eating carrots and lettuce without asking). And so it goes. Outstanding colorful illustrations.
