Publishers red cloth over decorated boards color illustration pasted on front cover, spine lettered in black, pictorial endpapers printed in green. Ink name on front free endpaper "Garth Budinger Xmas 1929". Small marginal tear on pp. 37/38. Some light soiling to a few pages. A good copy. The story of a little girl, Santa Claus, and the mischievous Peter Rabbit. The Henry Altemus Company was a publishing company based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, for almost a century, from 1842 to 1936. Altemus' most popular series included the Young People's Library, Wee Books for Wee Folks, and the Peter Rabbit Series. Henry Altemus published the first American piracy of The Tale of Peter Rabbit in 1904 as part of the Wee Books for Wee Folks Series.
