About this Item

Description:

Vintage Softcover that was bound as a hardcover (by Perma-Bound) with the original 1st edition cover, Stated First Mentor Printing 1972 Mentor Publishing 128 pages. Very Good+, in illustrated boards. Minor shelf/edge wear and a touch of rubbing to boards - corners sharp. Front cover has a worn sticker that says Perma-Bound. Perma-Bound (still in business) binds books for heavy use as in libraries. This is the 1st edition paperback that is now a hardcover and will last far better than any paperback. Alice Lee Marriott, née Goulding (8 January 1910 ? 18 March 1992), was an American historian and anthropologist of the American Southwest and Native Americans. She is a member of the Oklahoma Historians Hall of Fame. In 1945, she began writing The Ten Grandmothers with her frequent collaborator, archaeologist Carol K. Rachlin, for the University of Oklahoma Press. Book is a compelling study of the sacramental use of the Native American hallucinogen. Very handsome 1st Edition paperback transformed into a hardcover.
