A nice facsimile of the 1942 classic by William Irish, the pen name for Cornell Woolrich. One of the series of facsimiles of famous mystery novels by Otto Penzler and the First Edition Library. Like most of Otto's books, this copy was issued without slipcase. Bright blue cloth, appears unread. There is a thin strip of discoloration at tail of spine and some faint spotting along edge of front board. The dust jacket has some small rubs along groove, spine, and edge of front panel. Photos are the best description. The First Edition Library published exact facsimiles of desirable first editions, down to the smallest details- cloth, paper, binding, and first edition points were identical to the originals. The series is now out of print, and these facsimile books have become collectible in their own right. The publisher's information card describing details about the book and its publishing is important to collectors, and this book has it.
