Pictorial map. Page measures 11 1/2" x 8 1/2" Charming and whimsical 1935 pictorial map by famous illustrator and artist Ruth Taylor White. The map depicts the Philippine islands, with delightful illustrations throughout depicting locals, tourists and servicemen, crops, mineral resources, architecture and transportation, cultural stereotypes, and topography. Illustrations at the edges include notations describing surrounding islands and regions, with some distances indicated, and one figure shown measuring the Philippine Deep at 6.5 miles. The map is in very good condition. Ruth Taylor White was one of the most prolific pictorial map makers whose unique style made her maps some of the most collected. This map was issued as part of "Our U.S.A. A Gay Geography", published by Little, Brown, and Company.
