With many, many illustrations and a colored map. The history of the islands from Magellan to Admiral Dewey, chapters on "Various Tribes" ("To judge of the character of one's own people is extremely difficult.") agriculture (with the "tricks of the native workers" upon their employers) trade, the Church, and cities, evils of Spanish rule, etc. Internally fine and complete, with half-leather covers detached.
