8 x 6-1/2pp. The famous photo of Kees that graced the cover of the trade edition of his posthumous Collected Poems, edited by Donald Justice. Taken by Kees' friend William Heick, with whom he collaborated on the the film The Bridge and a film about the Point Reyes Lightouse. Kees would disappear in July of the same year, leaving his car and luggage at the foot of the Golden Gate Bridge. Gelatin Silver print, slight toning along the top edge, near fine, docketed on rear.
