About the Author

Dipl. Inform. J�rgen Hedderich ist Leiter des Fachbereiches Biometrie und statistische Auswertungsprogramme am Institut f�r Medizinische Informatik und Statistik an der Christian-Albrechts-Universit�t in Kiel. Er war lange Zeit verantwortlich f�r die Organisation und Durchf�hrung der Vorlesungen und �bungen zur Biometrie (Biomathematik f�r Mediziner). Schwerpunkt seiner T�tigkeit ist seit 20 Jahren die biometrischen Beratung und Anwendung von Statistiksoftware bei der Realisierung klinischer und anderer Studien, wobei konzeptionelle und datananalytische Aspekte dominieren. Dies f�hrte zu einer Koautorenschaft in zahlreichen wissenschaftlichen Publikationen.Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Lothar Sachs, Emeritus am Institut f�r Medizinische Informatik und Statistik der Universit�t Kiel, hat sich als Professor f�r Medizinische Statistik und Epidemiologie f�r Neuentwicklungen der statistischen Methodik interessiert und sie f�r Anwender "genie�bar" aufbereitet, �ber den Rahmen der Medizin hinaus und vier weitere Lehrb�cher der Statistik ver�ffentlicht; �bersetzungen ins Amerikanische, Russische, Spanische und Ungarische liegen vor.
