Photograph of Bob Dylan and Gerard Malanga at the Factory, from Warhol s 50 Fantastics and 50 Personalities. The verso reads "poet personality poets Bobby Dylan and Gerard Malanga in Andy Warhol s 50 Fantastics " and separately "Warhol," in the same unknown hand. Warhol did two screen tests of Dylan for this project; it was supposedly then that Warhol gave Dylan a painting of Elvis, which he later traded for a couch. The present print was likely struck from the original negative by Malanga, though several decades later. Silver gelatin print. Captioned on the verso in an unknown hand. 9 ½ x 7 in. Matted. Very good.
