Photographs Documenting Life on the USS Trinity and USS Bridge 1911-1923

A collection of 140 photographs and real photo postcards documenting life aboard the USS Trinity and USS Bridge from 1919 to 1923. Put together by crewman Plato George Stoukas (1902-1963), who took some of the photographs. Includes 2 photos taken in Germany by Stoukas in 1919; 6 real photo postcards of Statue of Liberty (2); the White House; Navy Yard, Boston; Bristol Ferry Inn RI; and Naval Prison, Portsmouth, NH.; 20 postcards (primarily real photo) of Cherbourg and other locations in France in 1920; 1 color & 8 black & white postcards w/o inscriptions of Gibraltar; 1921 photograph of the crew of the USS Bridge and a large fish, taken by Stoukas at St. Thomas; 10 photographs of Jamaica, Santa Lucia, St. Thomas, and Cape Haitian; 1921 8 real photo postcards of Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, including 2 of baseball game; 1 photo of USS Bridge baseball team; 1 photo of an unidentified team in the field; 6 real photo postcards of Port Arthur, Texas, taken by Stoukas from the USS Trinity; 12 real photo postcards of the crossing the line ceremony, which marks the first time someone crosses the equator [probably 1922]; 1922 4 real photo postcards of the USS Nevada and the Argentinian battleship Moreno at Rio de Janeiro, & 35 of Rio de Janeiro; 1923 a color postcard of children in Panama sent to "Madline Pouselle" from Stoukas, who married Madeline Pauciello; and 60 photos & real photo postcards of Stoukas and fellow crew members. In Good+ Condition: about half were glued to black album pages, partially obscuring handwritten information on the backs; a few have loss at corners or are torn; many are in Very Good-Near Fine Condition.…
