Photovoltaic Generator Performance Study

Pivot boom irrigation technology represents a major advance in agriculture, particularly in arid and semi-arid zones. These mechanized systems make it possible to cover vast cultivated areas with a uniform distribution of water, optimizing crop yields and reducing water resources. This progress is essential to guarantee food security, given the growing needs of an expanding population. In the context of Algeria's high plateaux and southern regions, the adoption of central pivots has fostered significant agricultural development. By integrating this technology, farmers are increasing their production despite climatic challenges. However, one of the main obstacles remains the need for reliable, constant electrical power. With exceptional sunshine from 1,800 to 3,000 hours a year, Algeria is ideally placed to harness solar energy. The integration of photovoltaic systems to power these irrigation facilities represents a sustainable solution.
