Provenance: U.S. Geological Survey, with the library bookplate plus their rubber stamp on title page. The bindings are all very sturdy and the text in each is fresh and clean. [+] All volumes bound in green cloth, though not quite the same: vols 1-3, 5 and 6 and uniform; vol 4 is different and a little shorter than the others, and 7 and 8 are uniform though somewhat different from 1-3/5+6. (See pic.) [+] Includes: Vol 1, July-Aug 1893 to May-June 1894; vol 2, July-Aug 1894 to May-June 1895; vol 3, July-August 1895 to May-June 1896; vol 4, June-July 1896-7; vol 5, July-December 1897 to November-December 1897; vol 6, January-May 1896; vol 7, July-December 1898; vol 8, January-June 1899. This is a very scarce run of the first seven years of one of the most iconic publications in the history of modern physics. Better yet is that in the volumes 1-6 all but one issue (vol IV/1) is bound with its original wrappers, making this pretty rare to my experience.
