Discusses the use of herbs in healing illness, common symptoms and their herbal treatment, how to purchase herbs, and how to formulate an individual wellness prescription
Reviews:
YA. Cammarata survived a triple-bypass operation and was unhappy with the way his body responded to traditional medicine after it. This book, based on his research of herbal therapies, is divided into four parts: the herbal medicine approach to illness, purchasing herbs, commonly encountered symptoms and the herbs most useful in their treatment, and formulating an individual wellness prescription. Several useful charts appear; one of them divides herbs into groups such as aromatic digestives, diuretics, cleansing herbs, vasodilators, etc. Another lists all of the reputed effects of each herb. With the current interest in herbal therapies and methods, this book satisfies a need as it presents the information in a balanced format and combines the age-old knowledge of herbal remedies with scientific advances. It will be a useful title for those who are concerned that drugs may not always be the best approach to healing and who are looking for alternatives.?Rebecca C. Burgee, Pimmit Hills Alt.
