Physics Of The Ether (1875)

Physics of the Ether is a book written by Samuel Tolver Preston in 1875. It is a scientific work that explores the concept of the ether, which was a theoretical substance believed to fill all space and transmit electromagnetic waves. The book examines the properties and behavior of the ether, as well as its relationship to light, electricity, and magnetism. Preston discusses various experiments and theories related to the ether, including those of James Clerk Maxwell and Michael Faraday. He also addresses the controversy surrounding the existence of the ether and its role in physics, which was a topic of much debate at the time. Overall, Physics of the Ether is a significant work in the history of physics that sheds light on the development of electromagnetic theory and the search for a fundamental understanding of the nature of the universe. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
