Piaget's Theory of Intellectual Development. This item is unavailable.Piaget's Theory of Intellectual Development

This volume contains the best available presentation of Piaget's basic ideas. Requiring no background in psychology, the book clarifies and orders the thought of this vitally important psychologist, a prolific and often difficult writer. Thus, Piaget's Theory of Intellectual Development: An Introduction forms an effective bridge for the reader to Piaget's own writings. Beginning with a biography of Piaget, this study goes on to describe his work with infants, children, and adolescents. These chapters not only consider Piaget's major theories of intellectual development in children, but also present a good deal of the research on which the theories are based and the rationale behind that research. The book concludes with a chapter on genetic epistemology and the implications of Piaget's ideas for educational practice.
