This is the post-war proof copy of a reprint of Little Blue Book No. 995, originally published 1926. “Piano Self - Taught” is the new title for the cover, replacing “How to Teach Yourself to Play the Piano” by Maynard Shipley. It is a brief but straightforward treatment of the subject. An editor added some inked-in page numbers towards the end of the book, and visible at the bottom of some pages are some brief technical instructions. The book is untrimmed. This is one of the scarcer Little Blue Book titles (at least in this format). PHYSICAL DETAILS : Petite Paperback; 64 pages : Pagination includes Title Page; 3 1/2" x 5" ; printed undyed wraps with 2 staples, printed in black. Pre-Publication Proof copy. CONDITION Pocket Series and Little Blue Books were issued using inexpensive materials and thus are almost always found with toned and faded paper. Other small defects such as slightly chipped corners, printer's smudges, and such are common. Any flaws beyond the normal for these will be detailed. Little Blue Books often did not have blue covers - or the blue has faded to gray. Please remember that vintage paper items are more fragile than their modern counterparts, and thus require proper care in handling. This is not the typical used copy of this title, and such considerations should be set aside. (Just my opinion) THIS COPY -- GOOD PLUS -- Cover toned - soiling along spine fold. I do not think this copy was ever meant to appear on the market. There are a few hand-written editorial annotations (addition of page numbers, which have been copied with the rest of the book) and a few printed in-house technical instructions for the book’s construction, seen at the bottom of a few pages.
