Beginning in the 1950s, Pablo Picasso concerned himself intensely with the linocut, creating a veritable cosmos of bullfighting scenes, mythological images, and abstract portraits. Neglected for many years, this traditional printmaking techniqueâ"which effectively combined his talent as a draftsman with his expressive use of colorâ"was consequently to experience a renaissance. About the Author
Markus Müller has been the director of the Kunstmuseum Pablo Picasso Münster since 2000 and is honorary professor of art history at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster. He is the author of Pablo Picasso, also published by Hirmer.
