Piercing Midnight (The Infinity Chronicles)

Thgindim Mountain is divided by rank. The rich live lavishly near the summit while the poor starve at the bottom and are beaten to dust by the brutal police force crawling their streets. Raine Ylevol has just been proclaimed as an adult, giving her the opportunity to leave her dull life and low-status at home and receive a career to drive forth her future. However, just as she believes she could be settling into the next dull stage of life-- an avalanche plows through it all, and with it, a girl caught among the rocks, a boy with a wolf who dwells in shadows, and a treasonous secret that ties the three of them together. In an instant, Raine's eyes are opened. Ugly truths of her government reveal themselves, talents and feelings she never knew she had come into bloom, people she once thought were allies now pose a threat, and Raine must decide if she will remain true to her family and the life she's always known, or take the most dangerous risk of her life and let her heart guide her-- no matter the consequences. Piercing Midnight is the thrilling beginning to The Infinity Chronicles, a new series for young adults.

R.R.S hails from Baltimore, Maryland. When not writing books, she is usually either at home trying to get love from her cat, at a dance party with a bunch of three-year-olds, on her sofa watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer, or looking for faeries in the woods. Some of her secret talents include tying cherry stems with her tongue, talking to plants, and reading paragraphs backwards at full speed. She has had her poetry published in various online and print literary magazines (including the up-and-coming Inky Mag and [empath] quarterly), and became a Scholastic Art and Writing Award Gold Medalist for her short story "About Sisters" in 2014, which is still on exhibit in New York City and on the Scholastic award site. R.R.S really loves having time to herself and melting into silence, but she is trying to quit her isolationist habits and make more friends, so you can chat her up through her email (tolcdin_forever@yahoo.com) or visit her personal tumblr: totoroses.tumblr.com Now that her book series "The Infinity Chronicles" has been kicked off with the first, "Piercing Midnight," get ready for more novels to come!
