Hardback First US Edition first impression complete with pictorial dust jacket The dust jacket has a clean and bright front cover although shows wear and closed tears along the top edge Closed tear along the foreedge where the front cover meets the front fly leaf The spine has faded with pieces missing to the top and along the base while there is discolouration to the rear Underneath lie bright red cloth boards with black printed titles and detail to the front and spine The binding is in very good condition showing just a little shelf wear Internally there is a thick pen mark and toning to the front endpapers and toning to the rear eps The rest of the pages are very clean throughout Beautifully illustrated by Mary E Shepard with a full page colour frontispiece monochrome vignette to the title page and several monochrome line drawings throughout pp 349 Overall a lovely copy Scarce with the original dust jacketnbsp.
