Externally fairly presentable, with a fairly large abrasion mark to upper left corner of front board, but otherwise original leather binding is intact and secure, with gilt titles and borders bright and attractive. Some small chips at top of spine and mild bumping and rubbing around the outer edges from ordinary handling and shelving, but the overall impression remains very good. Previous owner's inscription neatly in ink towards front, and some modern ink marks seemingly by a child inside rear endpaper. Front marbled endpaper has been re-glued. Contents otherwise very presentable, very faintly foxed along front edges and margins but largely free from any significant marks or wear, no creases or tears, outer page edges well-preserved.
