Additionally decorated with marbled endpapers and full gilt text block edges. Featuring a monochrome frontispiece, a colour-detailed half title, two monochrome folding plates, one colour folding plate, twenty-seven monochrome plates and frequent monochrome vignette illustrations throughout. Collated, complete. Besides Bunyan's enduring Christian tale, the 'other works' featured within include'The Holy War','A Relation of the Imprisonment of Mr. John Bunyan' and'Grace Abounding to the Chief of Sinners'. Undated, dated from a copy held by Bangor University Library. An additional plate not belonging to this work is slotted inside - it reads 'conchology plate XVII' engraved by R. Scott. Bound in full calf. Externally, smart. Mild rubbing to extremities. Slight fading to spine. The odd moderate scuff and marks to boards. Reinforced hinges. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean, with occasional mild to moderate spotting. Moderate closed tears and tape mending to folding plate at p.1. The odd minor scuff to text block edges.
