Pilyong Balong …along the Riverside is a tale of a child's growth in Pangasinan, one of the most beautiful provinces in the Philippines. It narrates how the protagonist, engrossed in playing street games with friends, initially neglects studies but later grasps the significance of education through life experiences and maternal guidance.

This book is more than just a children's book. It contains information from planting rice to learning about provincial life and the different seasons in the Philippines. Also included is the author's primer to the ancient Philippine writing system called Baybayin.

This book contains translation from English (the main language throughout the book) into Tagalog. Also, this publication includes a Baybayin Primer, serving as an instructional guide for acquiring proficiency in the reading and writing of the ancient Philippine script along with its associated regulations.
