Synopsis:
Pink Laces & Pony Tails is the story of a young, brash, sometimes irreverent but always entertaining girl named Nyla. Nyla loves hockey. She loves to play with her friends at the local outdoor rink. Nyla hates the fact that the local boys always take over the rink and never let the girls play. And now she has a very big problem. You see, she challenged the local boys team to a game against her girls team! What’s the big problem? Nyla doesn’t have a girls team! So now she has just a couple of weeks to find enough girls to play and figure out how they‘re going to avoid losing to the championship-bound boys team - the Rink Rats! If she doesn't, the girls lose the rink and their pride.
About the Author: About The Author: Rob Haswell is a local television personality in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He grew up in Canada and loved to play hockey with his friends. They played it in the road, at recess, on table tops and of course at the rink but back then there were no girls in hockey. Now, he the father of two girls and a boy who all play the game. He is a USA Hockey Level 4 youth coach and works with his local hockey association to develop the girls game. He loves watching his kids play and he hopes this story will inspire other girls to get on the ice.
