Proprietary technology in the form of a massive rod rammed into the planet's core allows The Pinnacle to keep growing indefinitely, and along with it, the secrecy that surrounds its Manhattan address. Equal parts prophetic and psychedelic, funny and foreboding, this story about labor and how our jobs define us (or don't) ultimately becomes one about honesty, family, and self-actualization.

About the Authors

Benjamin Kessler is the author of the story collection Of This World (Game Over Books, 2023). His writing has appeared in DIAGRAM, Bellevue Literary Review, and Pithead Chapel, among others. He occasionally teaches, frequently thrifts, and lives happily with his family in Portland, OR.

Forest Wolf Kell is a multidisciplinary artist and designer from Portland, Oregon. Primarily his works are collections of objects, images, and icons arranged in ways meant to provoke thought.
