18mo (4 x 6), black flexible cloth, gilt titles, all edges stained red, 440pp. Ostensible later printing. Minor fading to edges of cloth. Previous owner glued frontispiece to reverse of front pastedown, rendering the frontispiece slightly creased. A few soil marks to preliminary pages, else exceedingly clean, binding sharp and square. One of the earliest recorded books by Father Lasance, a guidebook for first communicants. A comprehensive treasury of preliminary devotions, communion prayers of saints, intercessory prayers and examinations, followed by a Triduum or three day retreat in preparation to receive the Sacrament, and prayers for the day of reception. A brief appendix to the text treats of the Sacrament of Confirmation. An exceedingly scarce, and early minor work by the popular conveyor of Catholic prayer books for use of the American laity. A nearly fine example.

If for any reason you would like to return a book, returns must be initiated within 10 days and received in the original condition as mailed.
