About the Author

Though born and raised near the briny depths of the Atlantic, James Preller now lives a lubber's life in Delmar, New York―far from his seafaring swabbies. He's written many books, including Six Innings, Bystander, Before You Go, the popular Jigsaw Jones series, and of course, A Pirate's Guide to First Grade.

Greg Ruth lives and works in the landlocked woodlands of Western Massachusetts―alas, without pirate accompaniment. He has illustrated many books and graphic novels, including A Pirate's Guide to First Grade, and Our Enduring Spirit: President Barack Obama's First Words to America.
