Book #14 in the YA boys series featuring Rick Brant & ex-Marine pal Scotty, who live on Spindrift Island off the New Jersey coast with Rick's father, who heads a group of scientists. The boys share thrilling adventures & solve mysteries through across 24 books, published 1947-1968. First published in 1958, this is a slightly later printing of that First Edition, listing to book #16 in front matter & on rear DJ flap (to KH #15 on back DJ). With brown tweed cloth over boards stamped in black lettering/design to front & spine, this 12mo has 181 pages with plain frontispiece. Condition is VG+: very clean & bright, binding strong & straight, pages only lightly tanned around edges, but unmarked; exterior fore edge side of text block shows small spot, The unclipped DJ is VG-, with mild edgewear, old prices on front flap, a few small chips, rubbing to extremities, but colorful & unfaded & nicely protected in new clear mylar cover Free!
