Michelle Sathe is a features writer with the Santa Clarita Valley Signal and has covered stories on local shelters and members of the animal-welfare community. She is a board member of the Brittany Foundation, a no-kill dog rescue, and Bow-Wows & Meows, a nonprofit organization that adopts out Los Angeles County shelter animals through an annual pet fair. She lives in Pine Mountain Club, California. Ed Fritz is the campaign director for Best Friends’ Pit Bulls: Saving America’s Dog campaign. Best Friends is the nation’s largest no-kill sanctuary.
