A heartwarming picture book for ages 5–8 that explores the solar system and themes of self-discovery, acceptance, and finding where you belong.

Pluto got the shock of his life when he was kicked out of the famous nine. No longer a planet, Pluto feels lost and unsure of where he fits in the solar system. On a journey to find his place, Pluto meets comets, asteroids, and meteoroids, but he doesn’t quite belong with any of them. Just when he’s ready to give up, Pluto makes a new friend who helps him discover that sometimes you don’t have to change who you are to find where you belong.

A Place for Pluto features:

• A fresh approach to a popular science topic that blends space facts with character education.
• Nonfiction back matter that connects the story to science curriculum and classroom learning.
• Themes of self-awareness, acceptance, friendship, and perseverance.

Perfect for classroom read-alouds, STEM units, and social-emotional learning, this feel-good story helps young readers learn about the solar system while reminding them that everyone has a place where they belong.
