A Plain Method of Determining the Parallax of Venus, by Her Transit Over the Sun (1761)

""A Plain Method Of Determining The Parallax Of Venus, By Her Transit Over The Sun"" is a book written by James Ferguson in 1761. The book discusses the scientific phenomenon of Venus transiting over the sun and how it can be used to determine the parallax of Venus. The parallax of Venus is the apparent shift in its position as viewed from different points on Earth's orbit. By observing the transit of Venus from different locations on Earth, scientists can calculate the distance between Earth and Venus, which is an important factor in understanding the scale of the solar system. The book provides a detailed explanation of the method for determining the parallax of Venus and includes diagrams and illustrations to aid in understanding. It is a valuable resource for astronomers and scientists interested in the study of the solar system and the universe. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
