This Wasn’t the Plan
A Jungle Dog Rescue Memoir by Someone Who Did Not Sign Up for This

This isn’t a how-to. It’s a what-the-hell-happened.
Have you ever wondered what happens when you set out to build a dog rescue in the middle of the jungle—with no blueprint, no backup, and just a dream as a guide?

This book is the story of just that: one woman’s chaotic, messy, and ultimately life-changing journey to build a shelter for street dogs while trying to save herself. It’s about navigating a world of uncertainty, where plans constantly shift, supplies are scarce, and burnout is never far behind.

Part memoir. Part cautionary tale. Part love letter to the dogs who saved me while I was trying to save them. This is a raw, gritty, and emotional account of the triumphs and failures that come with trying to build something meaningful, one muddy pawprint at a time.

It’s a story of grit, heartache, and the unexpected lessons learned through the daily grind of rescue work. It’s about rebuilding from scratch, holding it all together with duct tape, caffeine, and a whole lot of love.

But it’s also about something else: rebuilding myself—learning to trust, to lead, and to face the unforgiving reality of this life, even when everything feels like it’s falling apart.

If you’ve ever been thrown into something you didn’t plan for—and found yourself sticking it out anyway—this book is for you.
