Planned Parenthood. Small archive of Communications, Mailings, Pamphlets, and Booklets. Early 1960s. Various publishers, places and dates. All from the collection of a former insurance company executive, who was also very active in Democratic politics, fundraising, etc., including apparently being friendly enough with Eleanor Roosevelt to decline an invitation to lunch with her (not included in this lot). Approximately 30 items. This includes carbon copies of letters responding to a variety of invitations to luncheons, lectures, etc., put on by Planned Parenthood, the Brookings Institute, or other organizations, all relating to Planned Parenthood and/or controlling world population. Also present is the booklet, "Does Overpopulation Mean Poverty;" a seating plan, listing guests, to a lecture; signed letters from Planned Parenthood either discussing goals, or inviting to lectures; a handwritten letter from Beatrice McClintock, a one time board member of Planned Parenthood, etc. Many of the pieces indicate Planned Parenthood's association with organizations concerned with world overpopulation. Most date from 1962 to 1965. All in GOOD or slightly better condition, most bearing two hole punches along the top edge to be bound in a scrapbook. Some folding, creasing and notations present.
