Stated 2nd edition. Binding tight; previous owner name upper corner ffep; neat underlining throughout. Can tell it was an engineer's copy as the underlining was done with a ruler! Red cloth-covered boards with bright gilt lettering on spine; minor wear at corners and spine ends. This 2nd edition includes the addition of four new or rewritten chapters on ore bins, skips and cages, safety catches, headframes, and mine ventilation. 540pp., including index.
