Play It As it Lies... When Life Deals a Bad Card: A True Life Story by Fergus Buchan

This book is about faith and hope. It is a testimony of encouragement. No matter what circumstances one finds oneself in, faith in our Lord Jesus, is the only way to recovery and restoration in spite of tragedy, hurts, disappointments and heartaches. Fergus shares what the Lord Jesus did for him and his family when they found ourselves in the dark valleys of despair and there seemed no way out. After the sudden loss of his son, Alistair (4 yrs), in a tractor accident, Fergus Buchan as a professional golfer realized that a deal or a bet couldn’t change the outcome of this tragic event. This, and being treated for malignant melanoma, given only eight months to live, Fergus applied the golden rule of golf – Rule 1-2: Play it as it lies. The promise of the Lord Jesus “And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes” (Revelation 21:4) is the truth and something the family has held on to since that dark day in 1988 when Alistair went Home to be with Jesus. May this testimony of healing- spiritually, physically and emotionally - be an encouragement as we share how faith in our Lord Jesus changed a simple family who came to Him with their burdens.

Fergus G Buchan, born in Zimbabwe, now living in London, UK, is a long-standing PGA Professional. Fergus came to know the Lord Jesus in 1988 when his son, Alistair, was killed tragically in a tractor accident. Fergus heads up Messiah Ministries International with his wife, Joanne, preaching the message of salvation, faith, and hope. His testimony "Play It As It Lies" is also available on DVD
