In "The Playground Queen," the main character, Kya experiences a journey of growth as she deals with social issues and is uplifted by her peers.

I truly understand the beauty of children's books and how they provide the ability to creatively paint a picture of the imaginative future, but I also love the idea of painting a picture of the beauty of what actually presently exists. The message of "The Playground Queen" teaches our young children the reality that they may experience some form of rejection within their peer group. It teaches them to lean on people in their community to uplift them, and lastly, it teaches the importance of forgiveness.

About the Author

Hi! I'm Casey Morris, PhD,I have a passion for writing Children's books focused on educating and validating young readers through creativity. I intend to encourage this special generation of progressive thinkers that they can and will write their own stories. As a mother of a 5-year old girl, I am continuously inspired to creatively write on various relevant, social topics.I am a unique children's book author, who is a former athlete, professionally working as a consultant in a large technology company, with a PhD in Higher Education. While consulting, I focused on advancing inclusion, diversity and equity efforts while incorporating innovation practices in the public service industry. My unique experiences often motivate creativity.If I had to choose one phrase that defines me best, I would say I am a "Actionable Dreamer." As I was typing the word "Dreamer" on its own, I didn't think that was a good fit to describe who I am. Although I love the thought of our ability to dream, I often commit to strategizing on how my dreams can come to life. Thus, I added "Actionable" to the word "Dreamer" to emphasize my commitment to acting to work towards making dreams a reality.
