About the Author
Jim A. Yockey, MA & PhD Candidate Jim earned his Master's Degree in Psychological & Brain Sciences at the University of Louisville following his BA in Management and Economics (University of Phoenix, University of Texas). He has conducted ground breaking research on the psycholinguistic coherence of emotion states, and on new methods of affecting performance behavior. "After spending many years as an executive in the investment industry, I began consulting in 1995 to develop comprehensive strategic plans, research new markets, create impactful training and development for professional, high level sales personnel. For two years, I was the financial columnist for Dallas/Ft. Worth Lifestyles Magazine about the time I authored Road Map to Wealth and Money Moves, both books on the investment process for the average "Joe." Kind of late in life I found the field of psychology, and, I'm currently finishing my PhD dissertation. I still have a financial practice, but it isn't as hard as that activity in golf. Golf for me has so many unique qualities, causing me to look at life from another viewpoint; hard to master, fun to play! Yet play you can until the horn is sounded. Swing away my friends, swing away!" Harry A. Whitaker, PhD Harry Whitaker, Whit to his friends, is a 20th to 21st century Peripatetic. After graduating from high school in Narimasu, Japan, Whit entered the United States Naval Academy; six universities later, with majors in sociology, anthropology, English literature and linguistics, he completed the PhD at UCLA. Full and part-time positions at over a dozen universities and a half-dozen hospitals and medical schools ensued, including post-docs in speech pathology and neurology at the Mayo Clinic, neurosurgery at the University of Washington School of Medicine and cognitive neuroscience at the University of Louisville; for the last 15 years he has been Professor of Psychology at Northern Michigan University. Whit's research interests began with a study of negation in Old and Middle English, moved to the linguistic analysis of aphasia, then to neuropsychology, brain evoked potentials and the electrical stimulation of the human brain during epilepsy surgery. The latest version of his carefully padded curriculum vitae is 23 pages long and mentions about 225 publications, many of which are co-authored by many wonderful students.
