About this title

Joe Logan knows golf. It's his job. Logan has played scores of courses within a two hour drive of Philadelphia. Playing A Round is a collection of 81 of his course reviews from the Sunday Inquirer. It's like having a good friend recommend a course worth about four hours of your time.

About the Author:

Joe Logan covers golf for The Philadelphia Inquirer. In addition to writing his popular "Playing a Round" column most Sundays for the Inquirer's Golf Report, Logan travels the country and the world to follow the PGA, LPGA and Seniors Tours, as well as the top amateur circuit.

A native of North Carolina, the award-winning reporter played competitive junior and small-college golf, before conceding that his future was at the keyboard rather than on the tour. He promptly transferred to the University of South Carolina, where he earned a degree in journalism.

Prior to stumbling into his dream job in 1995, Logan spent almost two decades at the newspaper writing about topics as varied as presidential politics to movie stars. Logan is also a frequent contributor to several national golf publications.

Thanks largely to his job description, Logan manages to maintain a handicap of just under 5.
