CHAPTER 1
Trans-parently
Would we know where we are going
On this lonely road we run....
If there was no one to control us
Except by things ourselves had done?
"Ah-ha!" says all of reason
"That's exactly what we'll do....
Give the humans enough timing
So they can see themselves – clear through...."
Letting the words line up
for 'The sentencing'
WHO in here could answer?
Or WHAT in here could say??
....The things we all are seeing
As each person feels their way??
WHAT in here could wonder?
Or make an image to assume ...
That each person is connected
By their problems in their room??
WHEN could understanding
Have a lineup all it's own?
So our very own - called 'future'
From our past could now be shown??
WHERE will be the laying
Of the wisdom that killed fear
—To bring all of the treasure
That one 'I' could say "It's HEAR!"?
Or WHY do words still linger
And WHY would words still care??
—Unless they're buried deep within you
To escape.... and take you THERE
The tattle-tells reading will....
She died on a day
That nobody knew
Though rumors foretold it
Still it's legends had grew
For there on the pages
Laid the proof from her pen
—That all minds were avoiding
Until.... No other way in
As some will leave money
Or some will leave proof
That the thing we can't take
Always had been the truth....
But in great moderation
There's no truth that's untold
'She died on a day'....
—Now their life's to unfold
It's 'What they said'....
It's said "Words can not teach"
But in ONE case they do....
—When experience helps
To digest you a few
Or why would the teeth
Even think they'd be in?....
And not share the blame
Of what's done in the skin??
But who can consider
What kind of words we must chew?
—Until their stuck in our knowledge
We don't know what they'll do....
Sky drivers
Before I jumped out the 'plain'
I knew they'd forgot
The thing they would need
When a 'falling' gives thought....
But what could I say
As I stood there to stare?
—Over loads we will carry
And one more we can't bear?....
So I made a commitment
To squeeze through with my own
And scream while I'm falling
—Or how's 'thought' ever shown?
The only breath I know
They were setting the pace
Of the pace they would go
While running the race
Of a race they don't know
They were telling the time
On a clock they can't see
While doing their own
In their body of 'me'
They were taking the credit
For all that they did....
So where are those people
When the problems not hid?
They were taking the story
To the end of the line....
Raising 'Here lies the truth....'
—After that we'll be fine
....Humans
The day had been darkened
When the owner had showed
And questioned the mess
On the place he'd bestowed
"What is this chaos?....
And what have you done??
The air's filled with smoke
And who here's having fun?"
...."And what is this stain?
That you say is 'A spill'??....
Why weren't you digging
For solutions – not drill??"
A small voice spoke up
And said "We needed the stuff
To get us to work
Because we had not enough"
"What!?" The voice questioned
"There is food all around....
Also liquids and shelter
As it comes from the ground!"
"But the treasure!...." He stated
"Had been left for you too
The gold and the silver....
Found through words that you'll chew"
The small voice responded
"What'd you leave them here for?"
Hearing "BETTER than this....
Because who else shall do more!?"
Feeding what you want into it
I ate what they served
...Until I was taught
That 'I needed to THINK
To know WHAT I have THOUGHT'
So I prepared for myself
....Instead of portions they fed
And went for the words
The first writers had said....
—Not to the servers
Who don't know how I learn
—Until I've cooked it myself
I'm just tasting their burn
While I still can consider
All the meals I've sat through
And watched them all choke
On the words they can't chew
....And here we've our present
All from life wisdom's shelf
'Well done' takes some timing
But the proof is – our self
When the tax break falls
The fattened little piglet
Had no place to stand alone
Because his pen had 'runneth over'
Of that place he called a home
The fattened little piglet
Didn't know how well he looked
....Until he heard the warning
"It was time that something's cooked!"
The fattened little piglet
Isn't fattened anymore
As his neighbors now look bigger
Because he learned what 'sharing's' for!
Where your book ends ... meet
I'm referring to no one
With the things I comprise
As truth is the truth
—But can go in disguise
Like a quote from a person
Or an ancient to stare....
With prophetic old treasures
Whom left 'words' for our care
....But the dropping of names
By the greatest that's taught
May lead some to argue
And we'll miss the true 'thought'
For the wisest truth written:
'Life comes and it goes
—All else is between'
And your truth lies in those
With a brush of the tongue
The first 'little comment'
Will stick in the mind
Like ugly wall paper
With no texture to find
It fashions the walls
Of the internal place
So its resident owner
Will have IT in their face
While encouraging words
Of something positive said
Is a small coat of paint
For inside that crazed head
And so goes the arrangement
Of the world that we view
Knowing 'negatives stick'
But clear words take a few!....
Serving for generations
I once had took a problem
From the ones that's left behind
And applied it to my thinking
To see if 'reason' could now find
But 'Where to start?' I wondered
With some reasons to see through
....Until a problem HIT me!
So I blamed it on 'reason' too....
....I once had took a reason
And 'the problems' I have learned....
Is they're forever supposed to chase you
To give the wisdom you have EARNED!
No choice but to....
There's a mysterious face
That nobody knows
And choose not to look
Until 'death' itself shows
Then search for some wisdom
Or question the 'why?'....
—As if we couldn't notice
All but dirt doesn't die
So we'll reach for some knowledge
Of what we should know
Learning – 'What we are doing
Makes the message we'll show'
While here in the 'meantime'
We have freedom to play....
And paying attention
To what life through us say
But alas – we are human
And have learned what it took
Which leaves us the option
Of 'No choice but to LOOK!'
Hear today.... echo tomorrow
"I'll always be open"
Let each book cover cry
But the words can't jump out
No matter how hard they try
So truth must be taken
In the portions we're served
....While 'experience' helps
To give more than deserved
But after some thinking
Words will make themselves clear
....You don't have to believe them
But they won't leave you - 'here'....
Gone.... on going
"Gone are the days"
We all know that it's true
But are 'gone' the emotions
That the time put you through?
Gone are the days
When it's been there – and done
And gone is the time
To reflect – 'what's not won?'
And gone are the days
That we can't think things through
Because gone are the times
We can't learn what is true
....But gone aren't the seconds
We can do as we've chose
Because soon today's gone
And then leaves 'Just suppose....'
