The Plot Twist: Press Pause and Reset Your Life

The Plot Twist is an inspiring, heartfelt, and empowering guide for anyone standing at a crossroads and wondering, Is this all there is?

When Darlene Hightower stepped away from her high-pressure CEO role to take a one-year sabbatical, she had no idea it would change everything. What began as a break from burnout became a bold journey of self-discovery, creativity, and reimagined purpose. In that year, she reignited forgotten passions, tapped into unexpected talents, and began writing the next chapter of her life—literally and figuratively.

Part memoir, part motivational roadmap, The Plot Twist is a call to action for anyone who’s felt stuck, sidelined, or simply ready for more. With humor, honesty, and practical insight, Darlene shares how stepping away can be the first step forward.
