Brown decorative leather spine and green (slightly wrinkled) cloth boards, gold title. Blue patterned end papers at front incorporating publisher's list of 'Established Works of General Interest'. There is an engraving of the author on his horse Harlequin as a frontispiece. Some brown spotting throughout but not too serious. 215pp plus list of new works from the publisher. (Also available The Stud for Practical Purposes and Practical Men, the second volume by the same author). There is an inscription to the previous owner on the fly leaf.
