The book: An attractive late nineteenth-century collected edition of the poetry of Elizabeth Barrett Browning, one of the most celebrated literary voices of the Victorian era. Elegantly printed and beautifully bound in full vellum by the respected bindery of Baker & Son of Clifton, this edition gathers many of the poems that secured Barrett Browning's reputation as one of the foremost English poets of the nineteenth century.
The collection includes a wide range of her lyrical, reflective, and narrative verse, showcasing the emotional intensity, moral conviction, and technical accomplishment that distinguished her work. Poems such as The Lay of the Brown Rosary, A Drama of Exile, and numerous sonnets reveal the breadth of her imagination and the depth of her intellectual and spiritual concerns.
With its refined vellum binding, marbled endpapers, gilt decoration, and all-gilt edges, this volume represents the high standards of Victorian book production and was intended as both a literary and decorative object. Such finely bound editions remain highly desirable among collectors of Victorian literature and poetry. Seller Inventory # ABE-1780257322642
