About the Author

Betty Bardige, EdD, developed much of the content for the Tapestry Early Learning series, a software package designed to support language and emergent literacy in a playful way. Her forthcoming book, At a Loss for Words: How America Is Failing Our Children and What We Can Do About It, advocates for better support of early childhood teachers, particularly at the critical time when children are learning language.

Marilyn Segal, PhD, is founder and chair emeritus of the Family Center Village at Nova Southeastern University. She is the creator of the P.A.R.I.T.Y. program, which provided a field test for many of the ideas in this book. She is principal author of the acclaimed Your Child at Play series.
