Through It All: Poems from a Lifetime of Faith in the Lord

This unique collection of poetry reflects a lived faith in the real world-indeed, a lifetime of experience in trusting God through change, doubt, and the darkest of times. Ruth Martindale poignantly captures the essence of a personal relationship with Christ in highly readable, unpretentious verse. Now late in years, she has seen her share of disappointments and heartache. But she has also known a quiet, inner peace that has sustained her "through it all"-a peace that only comes from an abiding trust in the Lord and a yearning to be closer to Him. Ruth's poems mirror the thoughts and feelings so many of us share as we struggle day by day to keep His presence foremost in our lives. The collection is organized by themes familiar to everyone: Affliction, Loss of Loved Ones, Close to My Lord, Faith, Praise, Christmas, and Rewards to Come. For yourself, or as a gift to a friend or loved one, this is a book one can return to again and again for renewed solace, hope, and inspiration.

Ruth Martindale was born and raised in Chicago. She was married to Arthur Martindale, a minister, and mother to two sons, Dave and Jim. Her son David was called home to the Lord in 1989, as was her husband in 1994. She now lives-and continues to write-in a retirement community.
