Poems of Reconciliation & Recovery

Some lives can't be summed up in a sentence; they have to be lived through three acts, thirty years apiece.
In this raw, unflinching collection of poetry, Marshall Hampton traces the arc of a life shaped by addiction, loss, and the long, hard climb back toward peace. From the seductive pull of a first cigarette to the grip of prescription medication, from the devastating loss of a daughter to the death of both parents within weeks of each other, these poems don't look away from the hardest parts of being human; they walk straight through them.
But this isn't just a book about what was lost. It's a book about what was found on the other side: sobriety, honesty, forgiveness, and, eventually — peace.

Written in a voice that's equal parts wounded and wry, Poems of Reconciliation & Recovery is for anyone who has ever had to rebuild a life from the ground up, one hard-won stanza at a time.

If you've ever needed to reconcile with your own past to make peace with your present, these poems will feel like they were written for you.
