A very scarce work collected poetical works of Scottish poet Allan Ramsay.Complete in three volumes bound together in contemporary paper-covered boards.Containing memoirs of the author, a collection of Scottish proverbs, and a glossary that had not appeared in any former edition.Allan Ramsay (1686-1758) was a prominent eighteenth-century Scottish poet, whose works were early representations of the Enlightenment that would grip Edinburgh during this time period.Containing a frontispiece portrait of Ramsay to the front of Volume I. Rebound in paper covered boards with a spine label. Externally, very smart, with just some light bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Internally, firmly bound.
