A scarce early illustrated edition of Cowper's poetry. Six colour tinted engraved plates depicting scenes from the poetry. Includes a brief biography of the life of William Cowper. Includes works such as, The Task, Human Frailty, A Fable and his Hymn for the Sabbath School at Olney, along with many more. In a calf binding. Externally, sound though a trifle rubbed with marks to boards. Corners are bumped and rubbed. Front hinge and front free end-papers are detached with backstrip lifted. Internally, generally firmly bound with foxing to pastedowns and first few pages, otherwise pages bright and clean. Good Only. Seller Inventory # LTH12-C-11
